The Syndicate Lead or "Lead Partner" is required to invest at least $1,000 in the deal or for regulatory reasons, primarily to show that they have 'skin in the game'.

The Lead Partner’s investment can be outside of the SPV, but it should be in the same round and on the same terms as the SPV investment.
